Description

The Bredon bioethanol fireplace is the slightly smaller version of the Malvern, blending the reassuring familiarity of a woodburner stove with the freedom and simplicity of bioethanol.

Crafted in matte black steel and framed with a wide Stay Clear glass panel, the Bredon invites you to slow down and enjoy the soft movement of real flames.

Designed to tuck neatly into fireplace alcoves or to stand proudly as a freestanding feature, the Bredon brings that familiar, timeless look of a cast-iron woodburner into homes where a traditional fire simply isn’t possible. Its compact proportions make it ideal for smaller rooms and flats, and it can be easily repositioned whenever you fancy a refresh.

Pair the Bredon bioethanol fireplace with our ceramic logs, pebbles, or false flues to complete that classic woodburner look. Don't forget to stock up on our bioethanol fuel for a clean and efficient burn every time.

Please note: Our ceramic logs and pebbles should never be placed over the slot of the fuel box, but rather around this opening.

Your burning questions, answered
  • Do bioethanol fireplaces produce real heat?

Yes. Bioethanol fireplaces produce around 2kW of heat, which is similar to an electric heater on a medium setting. This makes them an excellent supplementary heat source for a small to medium-sized room. They’re not designed to be a replacement for your central heating, but they will help heat your room on a cool evening – without the smoke, mess or cost of a traditional fire.

  • Are bioethanol fireplaces safe to use indoors?

Yes, bioethanol fireplaces are completely safe to use indoors as long as you follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Our fireplaces are independently tested to BS EN 16647 and feature a patented ‘no-spill’ fuel box (GB2555760) to prevent spills even when knocked. Make sure you use it in a properly ventilated room and treat it with the same care as you would any other open flame.

  • Do bioethanol fireplaces smell?

Bioethanol fuel doesn’t release any smoke, so there’s no telltale smoky smell left in the room after lighting – unlike with traditional woodburners. You may notice a faint scent upon lighting your stove, but this quickly fades into the background once the fire is burning steadily. Choose our low-odour fuel to keep your home smelling fresh.

  • Do bioethanol fireplaces look like real fires?

Yes. Our bioethanol fireplaces produce real flickering flames, not an LED effect. They give you the same atmosphere of a real fire, without needing a chimney or flue. And because bioethanol burns cleanly, there’s no smoke or soot to worry about, unlike with a traditional fireplace.

  • Are bioethanol fireplaces easy to set up?

Yes, bioethanol fireplaces are quick and easy to set up yourself. Simply unpack your fireplace, position it in your chosen spot, add your bioethanol fuel, and light. There’s no need for any building or electrical work to install a bioethanol fireplace, so you don’t need to hire a professional.

Why more and more people are switching to bioethanol

Traditional fireplaces often cause more hassle than they’re worth. They can be expensive to install and run, and then there’s the smoke and ongoing maintenance to deal with. Bioethanol fires give you real flickering flames without any of the drawbacks. See how bioethanol compares to a traditional woodburner, gas fire, and electric fire below.
